Hi guys,

I know sweet f all about cars but been the cheap ass that i am went off and bought spark plugs on the cheap off a site recommended on another thread on this site...

I have a good idea on how to change them but a friend of mine freaked me out by telling me that there is a certain order to put the new ones in...

Any help would be much appreciated...

theres no certain order, for the plugs, if u have plug leads then there is an order for them, u basicly take the engine cover off, then take 1 lead or coil pack off at a time, with a plug wrench you unscrew the plug, then screw the new one back in with out over tightening it, then put lead or coil pack back on, as simple as that! and do it 4 times or 3 times if its a 1.2

:) Be mega careful you don't strip the threads.I done that once.Felt like the plug was in fine.
Till i was driving along, heard an almighty bang under the bonnet. One HT lead, with plug attached, blown out of the engine!.

Your mate obviously knows less about cars than you.

As said just do 1 at a time. take your time and do tham up as tight as the ones you take out were.

You may want to check the gap on the plugs ( the gap that the spark jumps across) as this can vary on different engines. Don't panic as it's not the end of the world if you don't bother. New plugs with the wrong gap will be better than old plugs.

Enjoy your new plugs and be proud that you did them yourself too.
