Tried the search function.
I have noticed that the 3rd rear brake light lens on my leon is smashed but can't see an obvious way of removing the light unit to fix or replace it,can anyone help  Cheers Paul.

If your Leon is new, you should be able to get the brake light replaced under warranty, as the lens can crack if the spoiler has been attached incorrectly.

The light is held in place with a bolt which goes through the back of it. If you want to get the light assembly off, I believe you have to take the spoiler off to get to it.

Last thing, the assembly is sold as one unit (lens, and LEDs).

Thanks for reply, car is 2001 and out of warrenty,i read the thread about the spoiler causing the light to break,i take it that the interior trim inside the hatch hides the fixings for the spoiler? Looks like a phone call to the dealer on Monday for the brake light complete

Does any one know How easy BOLT 44 is to remove and does the real spoiler need to be removed to gain access,

Also what are the chances of my boot leaking when i put it all back together

Cheers

probably! If you want to make sure it doesn't then it may be worth using a bit of silicone sealant (try plumbing section of B and q) but dont use too much)

Good Luck mate, let us know how you get on as you will probably not be the last person who needs to know this and people will soon be searching for the answers to your same questions
