Could someone know how often we should replace our suspension on our MK4 Ibiza? Or better what does the manufacturer recommend?
Reason i ask this is that i bought a Sachs Performance-Eibach kit with 16.000 miles and need to know how much life is left in it. Thanks everyone!

Isn't the Sachs Performance-Eibach kit a bit hard as a setup? What in general are your comments and experience on the kit m8? I will put it on next week so i will be telling you my experience with it. Thanx.

I was led to believe that all Mk4 Ibiza Cupras came with Sach's suspension as standard, I have clambered under my car and it certainly has Sach shocks, I dunno about the Eibach bit, I had the Sachs/Eibach handling package on my Leon Cupra and although you knew it was on, didn't look far different from the standard set-up. Enlighten me.

Yes it will be a much harder setup than what you would have had on as standard. The 1.2 will be very soft compared to the one your getting. You deffinately feel the bumps in the road a bit more, but, it is also relitivly smooth when you do go over some slightly more uneaven/bumpier ground.

My comments are this, it has sharpened up the handling no end, although, when i do push it really hard into roundabouts that are pretty tight, you can feel that it could be a tad stiffer. The lowering side of things are ok imho, as i think it drops them about 30mm. The back could probably do with about another 5-10 mm on top of that to level things out.

If you want some pics of before and afterwards then pm me and ill get ya some.

Cheers Spaniel

Yep,iirc, all of the models will have the sachs shocks on them as OE. And i also think that the DMF and clutches will also be sachs too as we are OE also on most VAG stuff in that area.

Well i have the fr setup at the mo, but the front stands so high up, the geometry of the car has badly changed (1.2 engine is about 120 kilos lighter than the 20VT). So i am about to get things right now. I think the FR suspension is also sachs but not the performance one isn't it?

Nope, its not the same as the performance one, each model will have different damping rates on the shocks, so the fr will be better than your 1.2, and the sachs one will be better than the Fr one.

Thanx mate, i think your motor looks much better now with the sachs performance kit! I thought the fr wheels were too small for the TT brakes, they look HUGE!!!
