I'd say that is a little harsh in a PX. If you were to PX it I would personally take all the mods off, return to standard and either sell, or use on cupra unless already upgraded.

You wont get anything for the mods in a PX im afriad. They will view your car as a red 20vt with 20k on what ever plate its on. Nothing more.

i wud try selling it privately as you will get more for it that way and then take the cash to the dealership. im sure you wont have much trouble selling your car

TBH I don't think you'll ever get that kind of money for it selling as it is now. That would be nigh on 2k over list.

Your best bet will be, as you say, trying to sell the mods second hand and the car standard, but I think even then you'll be pushed. You said in post #1 that you've got 3k worth of mods on there - realistically you're only going to get half of that back which means if the car sells at list you're only looking at around £7800...

I assume you r talking about PXing against the Leon Cupra? A dealer will ignore the fact that you have 3k of mods on the car until it comes to re-sale. Even then it wont increase their profit margin by much.

I have a 54 Plate Ibiza FR TDI (23kmiles) and I looked at PXing it against the new Leon Cupra last month, was offered £7200 with no mods.

Off topic - I wasn't that impressed with the new Cupra's pace, the cabin feels small and visibility is terrible. Ok I know I'm driving a TDI FR Ibiza but £19,500 no way.

If I wanted an FR with 241 bhp I would mod my own or buy yours "cheep" and save some money

people never pay top dollar for other peoples mods, sorry it's just the way it is

you may have spent 3k on mods and fair play to you, but you must always remember that it is dead money that you will be very very very lucky to get back

put the car back to standard and sell the mods to people who want them, that is what 99% of people have to resort to
good luck chap

I feel for you mate,

I have lost a lot of money on old cars and mods, the last 2 cars that I have owned have stayed standard power/suspension wise
just a few little touches to make them my own, mostly OEM parts

R32's are cooooool if you can justify one, I can't, I came home with a porsche boxter once and the wife went [:@] about the money we could have spent paying off some of the house

it was only an early 2.5 poverty spec one :banned:
