How much water!!! Rear footwell leakage

Well I finally had my mate fit new sealing cord onto all the 4 doors of my Leon , but the problem of the soaked carpets needed addressing so i popped the back seat bolsters out and lifted up the carpet and the sound deadening, its absolutely amazing how much water came out of 1 rear footwell, and this was after i had soaked the majority of it up. Pics below, Ive left it with the carpet up to dry out (fat chance in Lancashire)

I once got 8 litres of water out of a Leon's carpets.

Are there any photos of the rear door seal repair method? My 02 leon Cupra suffers the same rear footwell flood and I'm worried that the floorpan will rust away so a repair is urgent.

The door seal must have been the one part of the car the Germans allowed the Spanish to design!

probably doesnt rain there as much as it does in Lancashire, if it does then i suspect it falls mainly on the plain, ill get my coat
