Not really knowledgeable about such things.....but.....seen as tho my car is now dead with a very think shance of it been brought back to life unless some miricale happens......how much is a 1996 1.8i GTi 16v worth engine wise or even as a whole non running car would you say? 91000 on the clock with a few mods, lowered, alloys, zorst and apparantly its been chipped and remapped etc... cant proove it like but i dunno

oh aii might help if i explain why its dead......ECU has fully immobilised itself, had a pro auto leccy look at it (finally) and its the ECM chip?? Soo needs new ECU, code box and key off the donor car for it to be reprogrammed and to work.

i reckon you could fix it for 150 or so if it needs a new ecu and keys and locks.

At least then you can sell it for more if you wanted to or keep it...

and where wud i get such items? lol ive tried most places but nothing and its annoying.......theres not maybe ibiza GTis round my area to start with so the chance of some1 writing one off for me to go and nick bits off at a scrappy is hard

I did this when i was looking for my power-steering pump. Got 2 phonecalls within 15minutes with the part i needed. And that was a saturday!
