Seems quite a few people past few weeks have bought one, including myself, and was just wondering what this takes numbers up to. I'll start

Funny - I thought exactly the same thing earlier today. Having had one for nearly 6 months now, and only seen one other on the road (which spookily was another one in Luna grey), I've noticed lots of people saying they've bought one recently.

I intend to get mine remapped once the "new car" feeling has gone - so I'll get that feeling all over again. Maybe in time I'll go for FMIC and 312mm brakes too, but I'm in no hurry. I like the understated styling compared to the Cupra - and once it's modded it should be 80% of the performance, but still cheaper than a Cupra.

Main reason for me going for one was the insurance with it only being a group 8, yet still having performance, definitely compared to my Mk2 1.4, which I will miss, but will glady welcome the quality feel of a car with only 8k on the clock. Only actually seen one on the road before, but meets at BTCC could be taken over by us!

I bought my Flash Red one in June 2004 and I still look forward to driving it every day. It's great fun, surprisingly practical and very rare (I've only seen two on the road since I've had mine). :)

bit off topic - but i've just changed the 20VT for a Fabia VRS, and so far am impressed by everything (especially the economy and heated seats) but the squeaky drivers seat and 'less sporting' look. Having to take it easy for the first 1K is killing me though....

Booked for CustomCode in march....

I picked mine up at the end of July 2005 and im still grinning with it now:D .
I think that there is about another 3 or 4 Fr tdi's in rugby, 2 20vt and a couple of cupra's. There are also quite alot of the lower spec'd models around too i.e the reference, sx, sports.

The early sports aren't lower spec models, they're just the predecessor to the FR and generally have more toys as well. :p

slower gearbox though
Yay looks like Ants made a good choice. Now all you need to do is thrash the fook out of the 20vt for the nice new owner:lol:

Also have to remember that the "sport" model now is a 1.4 75PS petrol.

Not the 1.9 TDi or 2.0 petrol :p
