how many amps is the alternator in the cupra?

just wondering what size the alternator is in the cupra. Anyone here know how many amps it kicks out?

Check the manual, my FR TDI has either a 140A or 200A fuse depending on the size. They may fit the bigger alternator if you have all the heated accessories etc, not sure tho.

I would think the actual amps may be 20-40 less than the fuse size.

I dont know what the normal load is on the alternator so it may be worth borrowing a DC clamp meter to see what the car uses with everything on and normal system voltage. If you find out how much the alternator really puts out and know what the maximum natural drain is, you can say you can take a good chunk of the rest for what ever your planning.

Just remember to leave some amps to charge the battery too though!
