Hi
I have a 1.4 sxe on 17" wolfrace octanes 17" and on 205/40's. Went straight on without any particular bother and Ive got loads of room in the arches.
How much could I get away with lowering it without getting scrubbage? Dont want to have to do any arch work and would be nice if I could still carry 3 passengers if I have to
Thanks
Ollie

plenty of posts about this if u flick through it but about 40mil if u are still wanting an easy ride, no rubbing, no arch work, an people in the back.

even go as far to say 30/35mil if u want people in the back a lot.
no luck!

no probs mate, why not stick to 15s or 16s, that way u can bring it down to 60mil and look the nuts ;)

keep it at 15s an u can go as low as me and jenk and a few others on here :p

Nah I already have the wheels on the car, its just now it looks like a monster truck jacked up on big rims. Cos of the style of the rims 15" would make them look pathetic no matter how much i was dragging my ass on the ground.

got the same wheels on mine.

its currently lowered 40mm on springs, and ive rode around with 3 people in the back on many occasions, ad not got a single bit of scrubbing or rubbing, front or back.

heres a pic so you can get a rough idea of how it will sit

however, i have currently got a full suspension kit of shocks and springs to drop it 60mm all round sat under my stairs...

..not yet figured out how its going to fit :)

Ah that does look good, just need to save up for the springs and the cost of getting them fitted. How much you think would be reasonable to pay?
My plan is to drop it 40mm onto the wheels, smoked side repeaters, debadged front grill and hopefully some of the angle eyes if it is possible to swap the beams. What can i do to the back end?

theres not alot open to you for the rear. i think alot of people on here just leave it standard with a nice exhaust. maybe a colour code if you have any black trim?

Back end of mine, I'm thinking get the mk2 facelift bumper, nice oval exhuast, smooth wiper and take spoiler off.

Yeah agreed, big is best :)
Mine is a facelift but It does have black trim on the bootlid. Not sure what there is to do in that case. Not sure about an exhaust either, mines only a 1.4 so not a massive difference in power, plus do a lot of motorway miles and think the noise of the exhaust would annoye me (like my previous car) suppose it depends on the exhaust.
Suppose if I want more noise and power could go down the drilled airbox and filament route with an exhaust and cant you change part of the injection valve for the 1.6/1.8? Should really find this out before i type lol

Have to try the scrappie when i get back from uni, last time i was there a bright yellow cordoba which had the front stuffed in was there, cos I had some bits of that.
If it is there and I dont fancy it I will give you a shout :D

Yeah agreed, that does look pretty fat. You think there is any way of getting the black plastic bit keyed and sprayed so it matches the back of the car (not sure about the spraying of that kind of plastic). Would that even look any good?
That does seem to be the best plan though :D

ive got the trim off the back of my ibiza cupra sport going if someone wants to swap it for their black bit... i dont like it with the black lights ive got so i want a black one... if its in mint condition then ill swap if you pay for postage either way ;) heres a pic of the one i have... if you want to swap, post or pm me...

Heres a big pic, i didnt resize it, so if you want to inspect it you can do... i think something might be going on under the IBIZA part of it but you can see that on the photo.
