Hey hey

Ideally get the right stereo removal keys to go into the two slots under the radio. I was told that Kenwood stereo keys were the right shape but just not long enough!

However a much easier solution is to take a trip to your local halfrauds and get them to whip it out!!

Are you thinking about puttin an aftermarket cd player in??

Thanks for your reply!!

No not changing the player as im quite happy with it and the changer etc. But it is asking for a code and not accepting the one we have in the manual, so my husband wants to take it out to check that the Serial No. on the stereo itself matches the one in the manual. If it doesnt then we know the only option is to pay SEAT to de-code it for us. Trying to save a bit of cash if we can basically.

ahhh right i seeeeee!! i did notice the bloke at the place i had it done did struggle a bit as they are quite tightly fitted.

Another thing to watch out for is the rear of the headunit scratching the dash surrounding it. i made a little bit of a mess of mine!!

no worries

Thanks for the tip! we'll try getting it out using the keys we have here from a different stereo, if still no luck then its a trip to SEAT to line their pockets a bit more lol.

I resorted to buying the keys from Halfords/frauds. They were less than £5 and did the job straight away rather than cut up credit cards that i couldn't get to work at the time.

If i've got time tomorrow i'll take a pic of the keys and the mechanism used to secure the head unit, might make things easier.
