Hi, only had my car 2 weeks but love it to pieces, the paintwork is great but want to pamper it.

Can anyone recommend a good wax/polish etc.

I know the manual says hard wax every 6 months.

If you are polishing by hand, an old favourite it is Autoglym Super Resin Polish. Its easy to use, has fillers that will help to mask light swirls etc, and makes an excellent base for Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection. That is a sealant which is very durabile (when put on very thinly, let it cure for 1-2 hours then repeat), and for a final layer of protection add a good quality Carnuba wax, something like Chemical Guys XXX Hardcore wax, or for total durability Collinite 476s.

Thanks Reg, thats great, can I use them with one of those electric buffers from Halfords?

Of the ones Reg listed I'd say the xxx hardcore wax will give the best look but it'll need top up coats every 1 or 2 months, if durability is looked for then the Collinite would be my choice, 2 coats will give at least 6 months protection.

However if you really want to pamper the car, i would look at a wax that gives a great finish, really wet look and a warm glow, for this you really need a high % of Carnauba, the down side is durability on most run of the mill ones will be a month max, those in this category would include CG's 50/50 Connoisseur wax, Souveran Pinnacle or Swissol Onyx, these are priced in the £25-£45 bracket.

On-wards and up-wards in price, looks and durability the sky is the limit, literally.
