Hi Guys,
I have just traded in my e46 bmw for a 05 plate black ibiza and I love the the styleing of it, the only thing I want to change is the chrome pieces!!
I have got 2 chrome surrounds on my front bumper grille, as well as the chrome surrounding the grille with the seat badge in it, my question is,

Has anyone successfully removed the daft chrome surrounds around the front grille, and has anybody successfully replaced/painted the seat badge on the rear of the car?

On earlier spec ibiza's, the main grill (which has the 'S' badge) had black surrounds so you could have a look around local scrap dealers for one. Or, you could pop it off key it, primer and spray black. Some peope have bought badgeless grills, but all depends what you like.

With regards to the side grills, you're best bet would be to ask the local Seat parts supplier for a new set of side grills as they're rather cheap and come without the chrome surround as standard. Removing the chrome from your original set would be a pain and you run the risk of damaging the plastic.

Several people on here have painted the rear so I imagine they'll be along sometime soon.

Welcome to the forum.

I have painted my rear badge matt black. The boot trim guide is useful. Once you have removed the 5 screws, just start at one end and give it a good yank. The metal clips are quite strong and some will still be in the boot lid when your done. I found getting it back on was more work!! The rear badge is held in place with 3 nuts. Remove these and the whole mechanism seems to want to pop out. The badge part does in fact now come away from the boot mechanism with a little tug.

I cleaned it up and rubbed it down with some wet and dry fine grit paper. 4 coats of primer and 4 coats of paint later it looks like this...
