if you have the oe radio, you will need to take your V5 to the dealer (with the car) to get the radio code.

You cannot get around the SAFE message

you have to leave the radio on Safe for about an hour, it then reverts back to '1000' to allow you to attempt at putting your code in, get it wrong it will then switch to '2000' (second attempt) get that wrong and it will go safe again (and you have to wait another hour)

Assuming you have a Aura cassette headunit.

I'm thinking you want to disable the code input on the unit so that when you remove the stereo/disconnect the battery etc you don't have to put the code back in when you put the stereo back in your car.

What you need to do is chang the lock out on the stereo. to do this:

Press and hold the prog button untill you hear a beep. The stereo will bring up a settings menu.
Using the left and right arrow buttons on the stereo. Cycle through the options until the words SAFE appear.
Press the prog button again to access the code input. Then enter you radio code usint the first 4 radio buttons.
Once you have done this. Press the prog button again. The word CODE should now appear.
Dont touch the stereo for a few seconds and it will exit the setup menu.

You no longer have to put your radio code in each time you remove the stereo/disconnect the battery.
This process is also explained in the stereo manual. You can buy a copy from your local SEAT dealer for about £3.

I'm not being funny mate but how old are you?

Whats with all the text language? That's something 15 year old school girls do! It makes you look like you are still at school and have difficulty in your english classes

Are you just naturally that lazy or did you not go to school and learn how to spell properly! Mobile phone language on an internet forum is a big no-no!

We are not stupid either so dont bother highlighting words with caps lock unless you are SHOUTING at someone;)

Smarten your language up mate and people will take you more seriously, its very off putting to read:censored:

Rant Over:rolleyes:

Yes it does, you can switch off the need to enter the code (after disconnecting the battery for example ;) ) using the procedure Rookwise posted up. You do need the code to disable the code though.

It is in the manual, that's how I figured out how to do mine :D

Seriously, give it a rest. It's extremely irritating and you won't get anyone taking you seriously if you sound like an illiterate 12yr old.

Not big or clever and certainly not cool :wtf:
