Getting an original CD changer and head unit fitted today. The cable is present under the drivers side carpet in the boot, but how and where does the changer mount?

The bloke in the audio shop is intending to bolt it to the flat side of the wheel arch by drilling.

Are there not mounting points hidden somewhere?

Cheers.

iirc my changer was mounted in the right hand side of the boot snug up to the back seat.

To be honest though it was only in there for about 4 mins before i ripped it out, i cant even check for the holes in my lunch break cos my sub is in the way... Cant you just get to work with some heavy duty velcro? I would think a little bit of play would be better for skipping than being bolted/screwed directly to the bodywork

mk3 there were holes already there in the rear 1/4 to use rivnuts which you could drill for on a mk2 easy enough
