How about painting gauge surrounds?

Taking the gauge "frame" bit off should be fairly easy.

This chick on a Finnish SEAT board painted the whole thing...

...but I was thinking about doing only the rings around the gauges. Like limiting it to the lines in the plastic, masking it with painter's tape.

I'm just worried the masking won't give a good result. Also, I was thinking if there's too much silver in the interior already...

What do you think? Could do it over Christmas...

I'd say if your just doing the 'rings' then it will compliment the rest of the silver parts.

Yeah, maybe I should ask the dealer's parts dept. first what a new one costs in case it all goes horribly wrong. :p

Anyway, do you happen to remember if the "gauge tubes" behind the gauge windows were somehow accessible? It'd look the best if you could paint the parts behind the gauge windows, too.
