horn problem

hi guys

anyone had this problem before? horn went off while the car was locked.
im not talking beep beep beep like the alarm but full on beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep, for good 5 minutes before it went off itself.
wouldnt be so bad if this happened in the afternoon but this happened at half 3 in the morning, got me out of the bed and figuring out what to do in the freezing cold. now i have the battery disconnected just incase it happens again.

Water/snow has got in somewhere mate. Totally unrelated or helpful but we once got snow in our house alarm and it went off for three days.

thot it might be that but have no idea where the water got in.
tried connecting the battery this morning, the horn is still going nuts. thinking of disconnecting the bloody horn.
