Horn Problem (I Think)

Rookwise

Meeeep Meeeeep !!!!!
Over the last few days I've noticed my Leon's horn not working properly.
Basically at times it would work and at times it won't. Also. I've noticed that it depends where I press on the airbag that the horn would work but it never works by pressing the in the same location again.

I was wondering if this could be either a fault on the horn itself or a fault on the airbag/steering wheel.

Any help would be great :)

I think it depends on how hard or where abouts you push on the wheel, cos i've gone to use mine a couple of times and........ nothing, and i've got a couple of really loud horns fitted aswell..

I really don;t like those wheel centre mounted horn pushes, i much prefer a horn push on a stalk much easier to use and more consistant... But their getting more and more common on modern cars.

True, but if you have both hands on the wheel you can push it with your fingers, I've just always prefered horn pushes on a stalk.....

Cos' i've found having had a few cars with horn pushes on the steering wheel their a bit hit and miss, sometimes they work sometimes they don't, and it's always don't when you really need them from my experience..... [:@] when you want to toot some muppit in a bmw...

Call me mr picky if you want ;)

I heard that the car companies preferred to put horns there as it stopped thiefs breaking the steering lock by putting a bar through the steering wheel as this would hit the horn

Ok Mr Picky, you obviously have a very good anger management. That's not a bad thing.

Funnily enough quite the oppersite..

I've a pretty short fuse, when it comes to knobheads on the road cutting me up... or messing about in front of me [:@][:@][:@]

Oddly it's only something that really pi***** me off in the car, when i'm on the bike it doesn't bother me, probably cos' i can just get past and leave them to their idiocy.. ;)

Tbh, it's just i'm not that keen on having the horn push on the wheel, not a lot i can do about it, i spose can't really move it... oh well

I had 3 x seat horns replaced under warranty, it is a known problem.

My advice get a dual tone one from Halfraud's fitted, i did and it's not broken since it's been installed <crosses fingers>

Yep, the original horn was a pathetic meeep, meeep, so i got some Fiamm twin electric horns from halfrauds for about £15.00...

Now if i can hit the horn push in the right place it shout's....

Get the f*** outta my way
