No its not gonna be a classic,

When it came out it never got great reviews and is not impressive in any way instandard form IMO. Although when we play and modify them they become impressive this will never make them a classic.

Needs to be something that was something abit special eg Pug 205 1.9 GTI go brilliant reviews when it came out and is still voted in the top 50 all time cars. And the fact that now it is near impossible to get a standard good clean example.

I still cant think of another realistically priced car i would rather have than my Ibiza though. I love it.

Surprisingly enough the mk3 Ibiza did get a mention recently on MSN cars. It was in the sports car for 4k section. It offers a more 'rawer' driving experience than whatever other car they'd suggested apparently.

The R will probably be more likely to be regarded as a modern classic because of better handling/spec/power, but they're so hard to get a hold of (let alone a good example!) it might not work in it's favour.

mk3's have come down in price quite a bit over the past 2 years I would imagine they'd start levelling off a little soon. decent examples are being sold for sub 5k!
