Why do dealers then try to hammer us on part ex prices saying 'oh thats quite a high mileage that will effect your trade in'. What do you all do, sell privately? or take the hit from the stealers? Im only on 43k the now so will be keeping it a while anyway but was wondering what to do when it happens to be that time....

theres still the old preconception that cars over 100k are high mileage so their values get dropped and people say the above like kerrbryan said. In the real worth 100k is usually less than halfway through its useable lilfe for a TDI. Its things like suspension bushes and shocks which still wear with the miles, not the engine itself.

Last time he mentioned it, paulo had circa 320k km [~200k miles] IIRC.

At the rate he was pilin up miles I'd expect the car to have something like 400k now,,, anybody knows if he's still owning the 'ledo?

What was his engine? 240hp or something?

And he sold his old 110 mk2 beeza at 247k km [~155k miles] on its original clutch,,, that car was also mapped.

I went in a Seat Alhambra in Magaluf which had 790,000km (about 480,000 miles). It has basically been driven day and night all its life!

The guy had it compression tested when the head gasket went at about 700k (lol!) and it was apparently perfect!

He said there was a 1.9TDi Toledo on the island with well over a million km, although that was a TDi and not a PD.

My engine is great !!! Its just the rest of the car...... I think the weather man should start warning leon owners about flash floods in there cars!!....

So if your tdi doesn't sink it'll probably swim forever :)
