ive been doing some logging over the last ferw days to check my cf's, as i think i could increase the timing further. been seeing a row of 3's then dropping to 2.3 then 0.8, today cylinder 1 and 3 had no cf's at all, cylinder two looks like usual with the odd 3 then dropping to 2.3 then 0.8 but tonight cylinder 3 had no cf's yet cylinder 4 had 6 then 5.3 5.3 then 4 and dropping down to the redline all the other cylinders look great but this has me puzzeled as to why one cylinder can have high cf's and other have none. any one got any ideas or if it looks like a bit of a problem!
cheers gaz

COuld be a coilpack mate, if not it might be something to do with cyl4 being firthest away from your inlet?

i was thinking coil pack but it runs fine wouldnt know if i didnt log it. which side is no 4 as my maniflod is other way to yuors but cylinders will be the same number!

cyl4 is ojn your right, so most prob its not anything to worry about, i would try swapping a coilpack with another cylinder, see if the problem follows it :)

yea might do that so cly 4 is closest to your inlet manifold! ill try this and see if it makes any difference going in for service on sat so ill find out before then!

Cyl 1 on mine used to struggle, i switched a coil pack and it was fine!

P.s the top logs were with m,y knackered cat!

ah right might be worth looking at is this because it gets over worked being the last in the line and it takes its toll on it? as if it was faulty wouldnt the clyinder you changed it to struggle!
ps is it with octain booster as well the second lot of readings?

just replace it if your worried, i wouldn't worry personally not that bad and like flash one of his is not as good as the others.

plus you said you can't feel it.

i know but i want to advance the timing even more as i can see there is hardly any pull apart from this one cylinder.
to change them all i need to do is have ignition off pull it up off the spark plug then disconnect the wiring then swap it over?

aquamist works wondered for timing. just change it may be worth trying 1 can't be too expensive. or swap them other and see what happens.

yea if there is a prob ill mention it before the service and get it replaced under warrenty if its faulty but going to change it tomorrow and log again hopefully it works!

i think you may be reading too far into it, i think your at your maximum for your map mate, its running well etc.

Yeah just unplug coilpack and swap over.

Them logs was as soon as i fitted the new cat! ive advanced timing by about 4degrees since fitting aquamist and its fine! 1.5's max! if any! just need the map to release some horses now! convinced im still only running 215bhp!

yea i might be reading a little far into it but they were all 3s then 2.3 when i had it set up about two weeks ago with optimax now running on v power it looks to have lowerd cf to virtually none apart from this one cylinder which are even higher but will try the coil pack

yeah dont fiddle, its been mapped by the expert himself :p

ive learnt from fiddlign in the past!

Redcupratdi > Lol! yeah thats what im hoping for, i must be 260lb/ft as i am now? 243lb/ft on the hot rr day with a broke cat and the above timign pull! :D

oo and amist!

yea im not going to fiddle with it as such just he did say if i get the cf's down with good fuel that i will be ok to run higher timing when its not scortching hot but ill see if this is a coil pack problem or not first cars pulling great and dont want to spoil it by any means

i went to swap coil pack no. 4 with no. one then realised all the crap ontop of the engine so though forget that and went and logged again just to check it wasnt a one off!
vthe logs were slightly different cylinder 1 2 and 3 had no cf's at all but 4 had a few from 3k onwards starting at 3 then working there way down to 0.5 at the red line i would think this was normal if all the cylinders were like this but they are not

I was always told that high CF's were on the cylinder furthest away from the air intake, as it always got less air than the others, and hence the high CF's.

I always see high(er) CF's on cylinder 4 on my leon. At least last time I did the logs anyway.

thats what I thought also.
