Just thought I'd join up today just come across the forum a few days ago.

I have recently (well last few weeks) got a cupra r mk1 that i bought private.

Loving it and especially as its my first turbo car coming from an old astra sri

However on the dual carrageway i spot a honda S2000 up my arse today, i floor it about the same time as him but he just and so gets past me! - he didnt destroy me but put a little distance past me until i slowed down as it was getting upto silly speeds.

It didnt look modified, does anyone know the stats on these?.

2.0litre 16v?

2 litre 16 valve and a 9500rpm redline - if you were caught off boost then yes, it would have pulled away from you. IIRC they're about 6.5 seconds to 60?

Hi mate thanks for that i was definetly on boost lol, just had a look now.

Ranges from 6.2 to 5.8 0-60!! for a bloody 2.0 NA

No im not that bothered really, just amazed at the performance for a 2.016v N/A.

Must be abit bad this time of the year being RWD and no traction control!

You be lucky to beat a S2000, they have something like 240 BHP on tap, and was lucky enough to drive one once, very quick, would get one if it wasnt a two seater!

Mind you i did have some twat in a porsche carerra 2 up me arse, i was tempted but think i would have got me arse whipped !
