Hello guys!first off Im New to the forum and would appreciate some quality advice from people who for sure, threw experience will know.i just bought a mk1 LCR 225 (bam),wanted one for ages and the rite one came up.yeah its got higher milage at 103,000 but full seat service history and over £5,000 in invoices so it seems to have bin looked after.saying that I've had it 6 weeks and I've had to replace cam position sensor, coolant temp sensor, coil packs and the turbo to manifold gasket. It would be great to hear from other owners if there is anything I should know about the LCR at this mileage and age(2004)?as in common faults or anything not so common but has happened to other cupras at this age and mileage?thanks in advance and any feedback will be great!:)

I wouldn't say there's anything specific at this mileage to look out for, not that I know of anyway.

Mines at 105k and I wouldn't hesitate to take it anywhere, road or track.

Coil packs and leaky window seals are fairly common. Only other thing I would do on a new purchase would be to take the sump off and change the oil pick up pipe and then make sure to change the oil regularly.

Welcome to the forum.

Cheers irf!yeah I'll probably look into the oil pick up pipe as I have heard this before.apart from these small issues so far found the LCR to be an awsome hot hatch!

MInes on 84k and no engine problems to mention my friends was on 165k and never had an issue and he sold it on so with a decent service history you should be fine,on a side note it seems to be going through door regulators which i hear is a common fault also?

Cheers for the feedback demonic Pete.165,000 miles is a really good life for any car, never mind a turbo charged(higher maintenance)car like the LCR.o well feel good after hearing this and not so worried about my milage now.cheers again fellas
