Help please, i can't find a cupra??

Seeing as this is my first post i'd better start off by saying hi and what a great site you have going here.

My reason for joining the site is after what is nearly 3 months of searching for my dream leon/ibiza cupra i am still without car. There is no 2 ways about it the leon and the ibiza cupra are great cars and for the money you just can't beat them. However as most of you probably already know, to find a good one is like finding rocking horse poo and to be honest ive seen so many now am starting to wonder if there is any out there that really havent been tuned and then screwed to the hilt!

This week i have stumbled across a standard facelift leon cupra and it's got 185bhp (does that make it a lcr?) with 38,000 and they want £8000 for it, probably get them down to 7500, is this about right?

Also I know its a bit much, especially seeing as it's my first post and that. But this is also a big plea to anyone considering possibly getting rid of their 'Ibiza cupra R' I'm willing to pay top whack for a standard one with the usual fssh and general tlc youd expect, as i will be looking after it like my own baby.

Again, great site and hopefully i'll be part of the discussions soon enough bearing in mind i have to have the car before i can really discuss it. Any help will be truly appreciated!

The latest Cupra petrols are called FR's and the older Cupra was 180bhp standard, not sure where 185 has come from.

There arent any Leons with 185bhp dude, Ibiza is 156 or 180, Leons can be 180,210 or 225.

There are a few Ibizas about and more than enough Leons, just gota find the one u want

There was one on pistonheads a few weeks ago and within an hour of it bein put up was sold before i got to it, darn luck.

i had the same problem mate. looked around for ages. eventually found a nice onvi yellow ibiza cupra which i picked up this week, 1 owner, full service history, lovely condition inside and out, 60,000 miles on a 51 plate, and i only paid £4900! so they are about. try checking all these places.

on here, e-bay, autotrader & pistonheads

So is that yes boys? Should i go for it?

It doesnt have leathers which i would prefer but its got to the point i'm realising I am being very fussy. But I have been waiting for them to fall into my price range as I have loved both the ibiza and leon since they introduced the cupras.

I wouldn't worry too much about ones that have been modded, or modded and returned to normal. Cupras are quite a rare car and you'll find from looking on this site that the owners really do take care of their cars. Full SEAT service history isn't all that. Again read on this site- most dealers no less than vw/seat specialists! receipts of service etc:) and evidence of tlc and you'll be fine.:)

Getting one with a brake/remap/suspension upgrade will only (to me) be considered what the car needed in the 1st place.

So really don't be put off by that.

There's more than a few good ones in our 'for sale' section
