Help with software update

Hi all,

Apologies for starting a new thread as I know there are so many threads on software updates for the infotainment system. I am so cinfused by them all and cannot find any download links for the latest firmware.

My unit is on 0359 and despite my local dealer saying there are no updates I know the latest version is 0368. I have issues with Carplay disconnecting and have tried multiple phones and cables, rebooting the infotainment system sorts the issue so I know it's a software issue.

If anyone can help me update my facelift 2017 FR from 0359 to 0368 I would hugely appreciate it!

Remember some S/W issue number updates will only be due to either a tidy up or a later version of chips or their programming on the device, so not always relevant to all earlier "same" units.

So my car has the version in the first photo, another 2017 Leon for sale near me has the version in the second photo, notice the navigation, air con and vehicle tiles are different.

I can only assume the one for sale has been updated, funnily enough it’s for sale in the same garage that tell me there are no updates available!

Any help would be great.

You should be able to swipe the screen sideways to see more tiles. I take it that you have Auto Aircon?

Scrolling doesn’t show anything else. I do have auto air con yes. I’ve been having issues with CarPlay cutting out and thought an update might help that’s the main reason, but I noticed some of the tiles have changed too.

There must be a tile for the settings menu, try doing a soft reset, hold down power button until the unit restarts.
Also put it into 'carousel' view and see if it shows any different options compared to the 'tile' view.

My 2018 FR has the same icons as the second image, but SW version says 0468.

It's not been serviced yet, so no updates since new.

Found a Spanish forum with updates but the files are a few years old so no support for the 8” screen.

Sorry made a mistake and thought you had no 'settings' button.
When I updated the software on my Nav High unit and retrofitted the 8" screen I had to go into the developer menu and alter the output resolution to the screen but yours will already be set to that.
If you can find the later file that you want (0368) then this should be ok for the 8" screen.

Haven't been able to find it, no. However it's tricky to navigate the site having to translate into English on each page! Will do some more digging.

I was about to post the same thing!

I have a 2017 Leon FR Technology, with a software version of 0363, I have full climate with dual zone and don't have the air con button on the screen.

My partner received a 2018 FR Technology courtesy car today and they have 0468, and have this button, plus it looks like the button designs have been changed in the full link screen

I have searched everywhere for the update and all I can find is the Maps.

It is going into the garage next week so was going to ask them, but would prefer to just do it myself. I am having issues recently with full link cutting out too at random intervals, my phone has been changed, as has the cable, but it is very annoying, especially as you can't reconnect it when you are on a call, meaning you have to cut the person off, then call them back!

Also @Walone, what do you mean about the developer menu and output resolution?

If you change the 6.5" screen to the 8" screen the display will not be correct, when I did mine it only showed 4 presets on each radio screen instead of six, 18 in total (the 6.5 screen had 5 presets, 15 in total), also other screen views are affected.
So you have to go into the GEM (green engineering menu) developer menu and select a different HMI screen output.

If it’s the infotainment unit’s firmware version that you’re looking to update, doesn’t this have to be done by the dealer? I don’t think it’s possible to do this yourself - I think you can only update to the latest version of maps yourself for the Sat Nav.

Actually, I want to learn that. My H30 0359 is not suitable with Virtual Cockpit. For Example; at Car Settings, Instrument feature cannot be turned on vcds or some thing.

e.g. Will I be able to use this feature when I update my unit to 0368? Unfortunately, It seems like nobody knows this.

Thats wrong.

instrument cluster option is enabled via vcds on the 5F only if you have a 3Q High gateway. Its nothing to do with Software.
