Help with side light bulb

Hi guys im trying to change my side lights in my cupra R head light and cant seem to find out how the little bulb comes out of the actual headlight. does it pull out or do u have to twist? its so tight behind it i cant even see what im doing. any help will be great/

Pull, and pull hard!!

I had the same problem, turned out i'd blown a fuse!

battery side is hardest. get ur hand round it enough so ur hand feels stuck and then press the sides and pull HARD.... i had to use two tiny screwdrivers to get the drivers side one out.. goodluck

cheers guys i thought u had to pull hard but didnt want to break anything. what a pain in the arse the battery side is! i need jeremy beedle round. lol

Yepp drivers side is a right royal pain, especially when you eventually change it, and find out that the fuse had gone!

Did exactly that on Pete's LCR at a show a couple of years ago.... there was me trying to be helpful.... ended up spending 1hr trying to get the bulb back out without resorting to removing the bumper and headlight !!!!

Eventually managed to do it using some stiff earth wire from some 3-core mains (don't ask who had it in their car and why...) and then some sticky stuff to pull it out with !!!

Any, back on topic..... pull hard, and with a slight twisting action should do the trick nicely

Ash, are you replacing the sidelights with LED's? if you are then you better get used fitting them because you'll be doing it every couple of months.

I've tried 3 different makes and they all blow or they start blinking. I thought it could have been a wiring problem but everybody i know that has fitted led sidelight has had the same problem.

If you drop anything into the headlight give me a shout and i'll give you a hand whipping off your bumper.

Barry - i'm just going to go for the plain bulbs, didnt think about led's but now u have said i aint going down that route. but if i get the frigging bulb in the headlight ill give u a txt. oh how did the insurance guy get on with ur car?

Still not phoned them to get the inspector round, still waiting on hoses arriving.
