Help with ram-air please lads

Alrite lads,

Wondered if anyone could give me any advice about my ram-air

I fitted yesterday and doesnt seem to fit right, its tight up on the coolant bottle and the battery carrier.

Also the strap/brackets dont marry up with the positions they should do???

Is it just me or has anyone else had these problems?

please help me!

p.s does sound good but not as loud as I expected- mind the vid of lupo is hard to live up. Mine isnt remapped and none of my other car's induction noise have been close to my Corsa gsi- roared big time.

Mind you didnt get the dump valve woosh which is quality!!

Would a forge make the dv sound louder?

Your help would be awesome guys

A few people have had similar problems with the Ram-Air, and they have bought an elbow piece of Samco / Silicon Hoses, to get around the issue i believe.

A remap will improve all noise, (induction and d/v)

I had to buy one from Bill (Badger5). Was bout £15, i think.

The rim of the filter was rubbing on the coolant bottle too.

With the elbow it moves the filter away and closer to the wing. Much better.

It really should come as standard, as its dodgy without.

Badboy, hate to say it but I told you so When you were asking about the Ramair kit I remember mentioning the fitiment and that you'd need an elbow

Mine is tight against the battery not the coolant bottle. Don't really need the bracket either. It is very tight though.

Mine is tight on the hoses to the coolant bottle and the battery

What do you think to the noise? wish it was louder. never mind

I dont sorry. But will get one when i get back in the UK.

When i first fitted it, it was sandwiched between the battery and coolant bottle.

But it was rubbing on the coolant bottle when the engine moved.

Now it sits between the battery and suspension turret. Much better.

I think the noise is just fine. Not too loud. Sounds great low down in a high gear.
