ELO EVRY 1 JUST SIGNED UP,I HERD THIS WAS A GOOD SITE FOR INFO, I HAVE A SEAT IBIZA MK2 AND THE TIMEING BELT NEEDS TO BE RE TIMED ANY INFO CAN I DO IT OR CAN ANY 1 TELL ME A GARAGE AROUDN BIRMINGHAM TO TAKE IT TO ? IT DOES SAY IN THE HAYNES MANUEL THAT U NEED TO TURN THE TOP RING TO THE ARROW AND MATCH IT UP WITHT HE WHITE DOT ON THE RING:think:

Its easy, line up the mark on the cam pully with the mark on the cylinder head and line up the mark on the crank pully with the one on the block.

Make sure no.1 cylinder is at TDC though. Do this by taking out the spark plug from no.1 cylinder and putting a finger (or compression tester) over the hole. When you feel pressure the piston is moving up ;)


If you dont want to try it yourself, Midlands Tuning Centre in Moseley Birmingham will do it for you :)

ye the bottom cog thing has moved and duno were that line s up :( do u kno hwomuch that garage wil charge me

ED I STIL HAVENT DONE THE TIMIEING WAITNG ON SOME 1 TO DO IT, WONA ERN YOU SELF SOEM CASH AND YOU DO IT :funk:

i did my cambelt on my 2.0L 8v. where are you based, is it stripped down and all that? if the timing is out did the old belt snap or something?
