help wiring boost gauge

I got a boost gauge theres only 2 wires a yellow (+) and a black (-) wire. The threads ive found saying how to install all seem to have 3 wires on so im kinda stuck on what to do

Where should i connect the yellow too? (i dont no much about eletrics) if i have to connect to a constant live will it not be on all the time, keys in or not?

And what colours is it that i connect too on the back of the light block.

well is yellow is your (positive) then ur best to wire it onto the power cable on back of your radio. or if ur running a sub then u could connect it onto the blue signal wire that runs to your amp. what ever is easier for you mate

Ah right sound yeh ill wire the yellow positive to the switched live from head unit then, i havent got a sub but got the cable on back of HU, and then the black to a ground on back of head unit that should work and be ok yeh?

I wasnt sure if it had to connect to wires on the back of the light block because its the boost gauge light that needs power. But yeh will be easier for me to wire it to head unit less worrying too if i mess up cos i can go without a head unit for few days but not me lights lol.

I wired my gauge into ther light block, you can then dim it with your interier lights and it comes on when you put your lights on of course

Oh and when i say wired in i just pushed each wire into the correct wire block (postive in with brown wire going into light block i belive, and negative wire in with the blue wire on the light block.

"It should be easy enough: the light switch and dimmer assembly pulls out 'Just like that!' if you push the knob in and twist it clockwise. Then, IMHO you'd be best going for the dimmer controlled feed, so you gauge isn't like a beacon in the dark. The connections are on the smaller socket, and the dimmed feed is from pin 6 (top, grey/blue). The earth is pin 1 (bottom, brown). You can either 'Scotchlok' to these wires, or strip off a bit of insulation, solder, and re-insulate.
BTW if you do want full brightness at all times, use pin 2 instead of 1." (Words of Edward9th on here)

Followed the above information he gave me from my old post on help wiring in a boost gauge (which is 2 wires, like yours by the way). Hope it is some help to you,Like i said i didnt wirew them in, just pushed them in tight

cool man thanks for quick reply hopefully will work just sound. Might have a bash tomorow (i just bottle it when touching electrics). My boost gauge needs to be lit cos without the light u literally cannot see anything.

ur best to wire it into the radio then so its always lit instead of the light block
