help toledo v5(150hp) error codes

Hi all just got me one of them fault readers from Gendan automotive.

Plugged it in and it registered Two codes. I let it run for three cycles in order to clear the codes(supposedly) - the diagnosis light doesn't go off. I plug it back in again and the same codes come up - I take it that the reader is clearing the codes but they are just coming back on straight away??

Any how I would be dead grateful if somebody could help shed some light on these codes and what needs doing to my car:
1st: 00561 mixture adaptation
2nd: 00525 Lambda probe G-39b

My symptoms: Struggles to start. Cuts out 50% of the time when starting. Lumpy idol. The diagnosis light never is on whilst driving, it only comes on when starting the car and goes off when engine is idling. I do not seem to have lost any power.(yet) My mpg has gone down slightly, about 2-3 mpg on average.

looks like a knackered lamda probe (the ecu uses this to calculate its fuelling) which is causing the mixture error i would think

Thought so myself. How many lambda probes are on the v5 and how do I know what one it is if there is more than one?

Hi Mate
You have 4 lambdas on the car.
2 pre cat and 2 after the cat.
You could do with a possible full diagnostic as this could show up which one is faulty.
As as has been said the lambda could possibly cause the fueling error.

Full diagnostic it is then. Thanks. Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and go to main dealers unless i can find some one with vag.com.

Oh no.
Go independant too.
Dealers wow they will charge an hour labour just to look.
You could always try someone local to you

My mate is a decent mech and has his own garage. He will need vag.com to find out what probe is dickey wont he? Or are there other ways to find out?
