Help Stereo soloution

Hello.

Need a solution for my mark 3 cupra.

The Stereo/display has packed up.

I cant determin if its the guts or the display... no white noise from stereo. I can adjust the heating controls just cant see what there adjusting to.

Seat have quoted me approx 400 + VAT for a new display and internals.

All i want is some tunes!! I cant source a second hand unit and my local radio fixer wont touch it.

Where can i put an aftermarket unit. Can u buy pods of the shelf to fit a normal stereo into?

Or can someone source me a standard replacement for sensible money.

All and any help would be great.

Surely you can stick a tape in and see if it starts playing?
Do your fans blow???
You really need to figure whether it's the front panel, the unit itself or loose wires in the back of the unit.
I'm guessing that if the fans don't blow and the tape doesn't play then it's the unit itself rather than the front panel.
It's easy to remove! Simply remove the 2 screws under the front panel. Pull off and disconnect ribbon cable from the screen.
Remove the 4 screws on the unit and slide it out. Check all the connector blocks and wiring on the back.

I can control all the fans and all the AC etc.

I can not turn the radio on, no white noise.

Points towards the fact that both units have failed in some way.

theres a cupra r breaking on ebay ask him how much he wants for the parts from there
