Help Required, AZQ Engine Replacement

Hi,

My girlfriend has a 52 plate 1.2 ibiza but the fan belt snapped while she was driving and the head gasket has gone. I took it to a mechanic that said it could be just as easy popping another engine into it incase there are any other underlying problems but even tho we have sourced a few 1.2 3 cylinder engines none seem to match her engine code - Azq - so was wondering, would another 3 cylinder 1.2 fit anyway/? say one with a diff engine code?

Seems a lot of work for just a head gasket, yes there could be more damage but I'd rather risk that than replace the entire engine

what engine code have you found?

im not sure mate, the guy took the AZQ engine code and called me back saying the one he had was different. Ill try and find out tho.
