help oil warning light

Hi there I recently bought a 2000 seat leaon cupra 1.8 20v t had the spark plugs,oil and oil filter changed.Everything was fine until the oil warning light came on,I checked oil levels and looked for leaks but cant find any faults anyone got any ideas.The warning light also goes on and off as i drive cheers

by the way the warining light is red flashes and beeps then disspears then comes again cheers

is this the oil can symbol or the light on the coolant gauge?

If the light is flashing on and off, i wouldn't drive it, possible engine failure. Get it to a garage as soon as

yeah its definately the oil light and it flashes red but now its gone off and has not gone on since,dropped the car off to garage this morning to get it checked it was also brought to my attention that the two fans in the car are not working properly.One is always on does not cut off and the other does not seem to go on.I have been told one fan only goes on when you use the air con????any ideas guys?cheers

Not sure on the specifics of your engine, but on older engines the oil pressure sensor connection is just above the oil filter. I accidentally knocked it on my last ibiza, hence immediate panic with warning light coming on!

Maybe the connector was dislodged when the filter was changed?

Cheers mate I will check that out tm morning as I got back the car from mechanic and light was off but as soon as I was about to park up it came back on then went off again.I will definately check to see if it is that sensor I have got a 1.8 20v t leon cupra mk1 2000 model
