help needed with rear lights

hey guys, i need some help with one of my rear lights.

the bulb has went out on the rear light that is attached to the boot so i went to halfords and bought new bulbs... looking in the guide thing halfords had, i picked bulbs that looked identical to the one already there under code 382 (exterior/interior bulbs 12V 21W)... i have replaced it and it still doesnt work.
thats all fine... so i may have bought the wrong bulbs? can someone confirm if i have bought the right ones?

BUT what concerns me is that i had my sound system fitted on saturday. the guy who done it told me he had to cut wires or something as my cd player wouldnt just go straight in. so what i'm thinking is that maybe a fuse has blown or something has happened to the wires he has cut? if thats true though, wouldnt all my back lights go out?

any help would be great thanks!

North Lincolnshire.
Reckon it may be a fuse blown. The bulb should work anyhow as long as it fits the socket.Or has the wire feeding the rear lights been cut or disturbed.?
The wire he cut may just feed the one side.Just a thought. Also try a second bulb if you have one.Even new ones can be no good even if the filament looks fine.Use a tester to see if you have power at the bulb socket if you have one.
Also coggie it could be the main light bulb as there is also one on each side of the boot lid.
There is also a seperate fuse for left and right lighting.Number 25 & 26. 40 amps.Check them if its not just the one bulb gone.

I had exactly the same problem. It was cured with 2 new bulbs (one on each side) and cleaning the contacts between the supply clip and the tray which contains the bulbs. I bet if you check the original bulb, its probably still ok. Seems the connections are not the best and can work their way free.

Anyway, 4 months on, mine has been spot on :)
