Hi guys.. Me again.. lol :D
Right, was out in the tank earlier and after giving my car a little tickle in 2nd, to about 5000rpm. I changed for 3rd and it wouldn't go in... Not only that, it wouldn't go in any gear at all... After coasting down the DC and holding traffic up, I finally managed to get it into 5th and managed to limp home (nearly).. Whilst it was in 5th, I tried the clutch slipping test (40mph, foot down) and everything seemed fine... BUT! The clutch peddle has gone very slack and also sticks on the way back up once I lift my foot off.. Plus once i'd stopped, I tried to put it back in gear, with no joy to start, but then I got it into 2nd, to be greeted with the car kangarooing down the road (even with the clutch fully down) as if the clutch wasn't engaging for some reason..
I'm thinking it maybe some sort of hydraulic problem, possible master cylinder? But i'm no mechanic.. Can someone shed any light on the problem...?
Yours faithfully..
Confused
:D

check on top of your gearbox that nothing has fallen down on top of the selector. my breather filter did once and nearly gave me a heart attack.

could be your master (or was it slave) cylinder, its hydraulic problem as Dave said

Had a similar thing happen to mine, started off with me putting the clutch down and the pedal wouldn't spring all the way back up, gradually got worse to the point the pedal was on the floor and it was difficult to take it out of gear or put it into gear

If I kept pumping the clutch loads of time I'd start to get some resistance back in the pedal and then it would be ok to change gear, just have to do it very slowly

Sounds similar mate.. My clutch just isn't disengaging, so could be something to do with the release bearing or something.. Going into Stealers on monday morning, so will find out for sure then...
