Help Needed - 3 Baby Seats in a LEON???

Vincent Vega

Guest
Does anybody have experience of fitting 3 baby seats in the back of a LEON? :help:

I currently own a 54 reg Leon FR TDI and desperately don't want to have to change it for something like a Mazda 5 or a Toyota Verso. I have a 5 year old son, a 3 year old son and a third on the way and I'm struggling to find a way to fit 3 car seats in the back of my Leon and before it's suggested getting rid of the kids isn't an option.;)

I'm 33 with a mortgage, wife and kids so my Leon is about the only thing keeping me young. Any help or (sensible:D ) suggestions will be gratefully received. Please help an old git stave off middle age for a little while longer.

mmm thats a toughie! If it was me, id be the same as you and try and find a way!
The new rules regarding booster seats seems a bit of a nightmare.

I only have a 3 year-old and talked the lady into getting the Leon coz it was more of a 'Family car'!

Im sure 3 will be fine as only one will be a proper car-seat, the other 2 could be smaller booster seats?

I don't think they will fit.:(

The wife has tried it in the Leon when she has been out with her friend and the kids.

We have an Jane Indy ISOfix booster and it wasn't possible to fit another booster and a rear facing seat in the back.

Only option was to put one in the front and two in the back with Mum squeezed in between the booster seat and the door and I do mean sqeezed.

Lad at work had to sell his escort and buy a Zsara Picasso when they had their third child. He absolutely hates the car:cry: but it does have space in the back for 3 seats.

Sorry, I know it's not what you wanted to hear:hide:

The new Ford S-Max looks better than most MPV's if you've got to take that option. You can get a 225bhp version as well.

I fear you're right Craig but i'll be gutted if it comes to that. You're right as well when you talk about it being a squeeze in the back. I don't think the missus will be at all pleased if I suggest that idea as we're driving to the South of France in May. 12 hours cramped up in the back may signify the end of our marriage.;) Oh well, I'll keep looking at the various different types of booster seats available and hope I can come up with some way around the problem.

The S Max does look okay but i'll be hammered on company car tax for that engine. The Leon is about the best I can afford as far as looks, performance list price and company car tax goes. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed that someone comes up with a solution that doesn't involve selling the Leon or leaving the kids at home.

I have had an A6 and currently a 5 series and both would struggle to fit 3 seats in the back.

MPV I am afraid (or something similar like Scenic).

3 seats in the back of the leon....no way.

Tried it in my old leon and traded it in for an altea tdi dsg(cracking motor)as there is slightly more space but is still tight. Only real option is to accept middle age and get a s max/cmax/espace etc

ironic how the government brings in a law to make us buy bigger cars, then aims to tax bigger cars.
we'll all be driving 1.1ltr 7 seaters before long

You might get 3 seats in a Mondeo ST220/ST TDCi?

I had a ST220 as my last but one car and that had bags of room in the back, like a bench seat as well, plus the boot is huuuuuuuge!

ST TDCi I would have if I had another as the V6 is thirsty, it is exactly the same looking car as the V6 but with a single tail pipe instead of two and the 2.2 150bhp lump is sweet as well.

Pleanty about for around the price of a Leon FR TDi.

Think about this!!!!!!!! lol

no you wouldnt get 3 babyseats in the back of the leon...but....

the five year old is old enough for a booster seat.....and the baby for the first 9 months wil prob be in a rear facing seat in the front of the car....so thats 1 car seat 1 booster seat and a person in the back....not huge amounts of room....but if the desperation to keep the leon is there they will do it lol....

then by the time the baby is ready to go in the back of the car....the 3 year old will be over 4....and ready for a booster seat....so then u have 2 booster seats and 1 car seat......

depends on weight really for the baby and how it grows to move it up to the next car seat, but know what you mean, but the booster seat arnt big at all really, wouldnt the misus sit in the back with the kid next to her
