Help,my key fobs not working!

Afew months ago after locking my car with the key fob then going back 30mins later to re open it the key fob wouldnt unlock the car,ever since ive had to manually lock it which is a pain.I tried changing to batteries,the re syncing it but it wouldnt work,the key fob button just flashes red when i press it but it does nothing until last week i put it into the passenger side to unlock the door and it flashed and then the fob worked again.Its been fine all week and then today it stopped again and i cant get it to work.Does anyone know whats wrong with it and how i can get it working again?its a leon se 2000 reg thanks

Hi, cant help that much other than to say I tried all sorts to get my key working again, in the end I just went for the flip key option, but when you say 're syncing' do you mean you reprogrammed it as described in the 'flip key' thread?

In my manual it says to put the spare key in the ignition and the key fob in the drivers door and lock it whilst pressing the open button which didnt do anything! I tried many times and so did my father in law whos a mechanic but last saturday i put it into the passenger door to unlock it and must have pressed the open button and it started working only for 6 days and now im back to sqaure one!! When i press the open button the red light works on the fob but nothing happens. Im so sick of unlocking and locking it manually that im thinking about taking it to seat but god knows how much that will cost!
Thanks anyway,does anyone else know whats going on with it?!!

Think its your fob, may need replacing, have you checked battery connector in the fob?

Same problem for me tried reprograming via vagcom but still nothing, its just dead i think. Going to pick up a new key from VW tomorrow see how that gets on. You will probably have to do the same.
