PD is much strong then nonpd and can be much easier tuned then nonpd.
Standard nonpd110 haves 0-60 10.7 i don't know how much does on 1/4mile.
There are some folks on out there making up to 250 hp on asv engine, i currently have 209 hp .

Yea I mean they are good cars as I had a 110BHP 2001 model in silver. Had a nice bit of torque for what it was however it does give you the impression of being faster than it really was.

Modding potential to it it still pretty good. Like with all VAG cars you can upgrade brakes, suspension, air filter etc, remap...only thing I would say is if you get a remap your going to need to upgrade your clutch and brakes as you only got 280mm discs i believe which wont be able to handle the extra power.

They are definately not 256mm, its either 280mm or 288mm.

Advantages of PD over non pd - more fuel efficient, more torque and power produced, better emmisions control due to the injections per cycle

power gains - a remap alone will see 130-140bhp, bigger injectors, different turbo etc will see alot more

Having owned both in standard SE trim, they are chalk and cheese... The 110 is smoother and quieter and you do feel as if you're going faster than you really are. The 130PD is a bit of a beast in comparison - the torque is much more sudden and all hell breaks loose around 2K rpm in 2nd & 3rd if you floor it - very easy to spin the wheels while the TCS bangs and thumps trying to control it all... Handling on both is good, though tyre dependent in my experience. MPG was around 50 in the 110, I average 46-ish in the 130 in mixed driving... but I'm also far more tempted to use the loud pedal

Bonuses in the 130 are the 6th gear and that cruise is often fitted - if it isn't and you go for a 130, get it fitted. Great for M-ways and saving your licence...

Have the same car your looking at but in Platinum, was'nt sure myself what the diff was in the PD engine but now know thanks to them above. Had mine just over a year and think its great but if you can stretch your budget go for the 130!! :)
