guys i in a situation where my clutch has gone to grave and i got gearbox on the deck of my garage.. i need to find out if fitting a standard flywhhel(lightened and balanced) is ok to do rather than a dual mass.. i tried searching for answers on net but someone i know in vag dealer said they cause vibration and harsh comfort in clutch. i jus need any answers to what i should do.. i have both units to choose from byt dual mass is supposed to be unreliable when tuning to over 200bhp which is my intension:help:

AFAIK, fitting a Single Mass Flywheel (SMF) causes a loud chatter through the gearbox at idle with the clutch pedal up. Noise goes when pedal is pressed and clutch is disengaged

I know that on the Fabia's, you can raise the idle speed slightly using VAG-COM, which helps to reduce the noise somewhat.

Benefits are better pick-up from low revs, revs easier and can handle more power

Hope that helps
