Hi all,

Woke up this morning and looked out the window at my lovely 08 FR, to my horror there was oil over the ground. Not good cannot see anything really but it does not look good.
Think it must have started spilling out after i parked it last night..but am worried!
Checked the oil level and it is at the very bottom of the dip stick..

Any positive thoughts would be greatly appreciated at this awful start to my day!

Thanks

Am sure it is engine oil as i can see it dripping slowly now, wont b able to get under to have a look..
There is only 49k which on a diesel is relevantly low milage. The car was booked in for a service for Tuesday but this aint be just a normal service now! This is my first Leon FR which I love but not at the minute!!
Dont think I can post pictures yet..
Cheers

Thanks Lads had it jacked up and it looks like its coming from the bottom of the filter area.
How could this happen thou? The filter does not seem loose or anything...
This is not good at all..
Probably get the garage to collect it tomorrow.
What would have happened if I was driving? Don't want to think of that :(
Cheers

I think its fairly common for the oil filter housing to crack as they're only plastic. If there is a crack and the engine is running it will piss oil everywhere so as smee said it may have cracked due to the cold overnight if there isn't oil all over ur engine bay.
Be warned tho a replacement isn't as cheap as u mite expect for a bit of plastic.
