It's a common problem, if you do a search you find a few tips, I just don't take them off any more. (and use a trolly jack instead)

...how the hell do they go back on!!! I've left them off and feel a trip to the dealer as soon as they open in the morning!

Took one off before, never again! Yes invest in a TJ, a lot easier I reckon!

By the way, did you sort you car problem out in the end! If so, what have you got now?

Mark.

I've had mine off loads of times and never had a problem putting them back on!!!
Make sure theres no dirt build up around them , clip the top part in and then a quick up wards tap with the palm of the hand on the bottom and voila :p

THe very first timeI took these off, I had a nightmare getting them back on (ended up usnig a knife to jimmy them back in !).

I took all 4 off over the weekend to paint my calipers, and I can say that they took less than 2 mins to put them all back on - I was shocked - lol

Put the 2 clips in at the front (plus the rubber bit), then slowly push the cover back onto the rear clips, then smack it with your palm !!!

Worked a treat :)

I think they are scared of me now

Had the same problem - solved it by taking the whole side skirt off. 5 Torx head screws, 1 in each wheel arch - 3 underneath. Once off it takes seconds to clip them back on. (Now use TJ!!)

NOW FIXED....YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

bit of a hastle tho, went back to dealer as agreed this morning...problem was they had no idea I was coiming in, even tho it was booked in on tuesday...or so i was told! 4 more people tried there best...1 from service dept and 3 from the body shop...NO IDEA!!!! waste of f'ing time and was told the skirt needed to be taken off!!! i dont think so! Its needs to go back sometime soon for other bits to be sorted and was told they will sort it then!

On the way back home stopped off at my trusted old dealer for advice on the wasters im dealing with at the mo... what a star he was...one look at it and 30 sec's later all done! Why cant all dealerships be like that... GOLD STAR TO HIDSONS SEAT RAINHAM

LOL, we've all been there changing a wheel in the pissing rain and eventually having to pull out the grommet with the plastic safety wire so that you can drive home and fit it later.

God knows what the designers were thinking. I found if you clipped it in at the front and then pivoted around pushing the back up and then push the clips up with a small flat screwdriver they just clip into place.

Why could the designers not have them sliding in ???

My new R32 has sideskirts and it doesn't have any stupid covers

Where do you boys jack up from using the trolley jack?

I tried to get the trolley jack under the FR+ and ended up using the scissor jack on the side and then jacking up at where the shock meets the wheel (wishbone?) with a piece of wood on the end of the trolley jack! Ended up jacking with the TJ, the the Scissor jack and then the TJ again...gotta be an easier way of doing this!

Are you using the std jack to get the clearance to get the tj under? If so just put a piece if wood or a couple of bricks in front of the wheel and drive onto them, tj should then fit under the side ok.
