Help! Hazards not working!

I've noticed that my hazards don't work on my 2003 1.0 Arosa any more! Indicators are fine, but the hazard switch doen't work, and neither does the headlights-left-on warning alarm or the indicator flash when locking/unlocking...
MOT is due in a couple of weeks so HelP! anyone any clues what to look at?

Switch? Relay? are they one and the same, or is the relay mounted elsewhere in the car?
I've tried to remove the switch, but can't see how to get it out. I removed the radio, disconnected the plug from the back... and stopped there...

Quite often the relay is in the switch.

You probably need to push it out from behind, so don't be shy with the brute force

That's easy for you to say - it's my dash! ;-)
I'll give it a go. Didn't seem room though - the button on the switch is ~1" round, so thought the back might be too big to push through the same hole.
