OK the door cards are off and the originals have been de riveted etc.

I am in the process of fitting some MDF rings using putty onto the door cards so i can mount my speakers and seal around so no gaps between it and the door. But i need some help with the wires.

I have components.

How do i wire them up I have my boxes where do i take my input from???

Which colour wire is the +ve and which is -ve

where have you placed your crossover boxes?

i put the cross over box, inside the door at the bottom, through the speaker hole, had it fixed down so no vibrations would occur etc

right since the speakers themselves ahve the crossovers built in. Would i be thinking right i could take the signal from the wires that go to the tweeter and all would be fine.

the thing that gets me is there are 4 wires going to the main speakers and 2 on each side join together. I figure its the wires that go to the tweeters but i dont know. Id like to use the tweeters wire as it means i dont have to cut the clips off.

Let me know how you get on as i'm thinking of upgrading the speakers and i live in Bracknell.

Have you tried Nice Ice in Longshot Lane near the Bracknell tip for Advice?

I changed all the speakers a couple of years ago, I removed the bass & tweeters and replaced them with Kinetic Components in all 4 doors.

The crossover box has since been remounted (super-glued!) as the doubled sided pads (supplied) & duct-tape (added) failed to hold it in place.

I also wanted more bass but didn't want to install subs as I want to keep my boot space so was recommended a pair of 8" Kinetic speakers & 250w Alpine amp fitted to the parcel shelf.

Obviously the bass isn't as deep as subs would provide but I can feel the vibrations in the back of my seat, the sound quality is very good, clear & crisp

see imnot into cutting my door about so im just replacing mine. like for like as it were. im setting my speakers back from the gril a little so the extra air in front amplifies the bass a bit.
