help finding front strut brace

looking for a front strut brace for my01 tdi

tried a looking on ebay but doesnt seem to be any

can anyone point some out to me

Stop looking on ebay and try going to somewhere that sells VAG tuning parts. Or as said go to your local Audi dealer and buy an S3 one.

cant recommend the s3 one enough
not over the top on price
does the job
looks good
and is black so if your worried about insurance etc it looks like its always been there

i've got the s3 one, but having trouble fitting it.

can't seem to get it under the bonnet lifter

if i take the lifter off, i can fit the brace, but can't then get the lifter back on

I was told you cant put the engine cover back on though with the S3 one, is that right ?

It also fouls the OMP one a tad but nothing to really worry about

So is it still possible to leave on? Do you get vibrations etc ?

Yup i did at first but now the engine cover has worn a bit it doesn't seem to vibrate, either that or i've stopped paying attention to it - tbh you could dremmel off what gets in the way without it being noticeable

my s3 one doesn't foul on the engine cover.

still can't fit it past the bonnet lifter though

have been thinking about getting one of these for a while now. There are marks on teh suspension tops, but was wondering. How is it fitted. Are there captive huts built into the suspension mounts or to they have to remove the front dampers. Is it too much to do yourself??

i have fitted the S3 one to my LCR. just had to trim a slight bit off the brace where the bonnet lifter fits!!! other than that it fits straight on!!! doesnt catch the engine cover at all!!! took me about 45 mins to fit.

How much is the s3 one from audi?

Bout £70 I think. £110 fitted at a VAG specialist......
