Just took my car to a private road to stretch it legs as never done it before.
Anyway just got up to a respectable speed in 5th when all of a sudden the car stops accelerating and boost gauge dropped from 15psi to 5 psi.
Now the car will not pull above 5 psi in any gear. The oil temp never went above 90 degrees C and the water temp is normal.
I have checked that the maf and map sensors haven't become unplugged, that my t piece hasn't become loose above my dv and it seems fine. Also no dashboard lights are on.

The car is completely standard bar a jabbasport custom map and a Forge 006 dv.

Any ideas??

I left the car for about 15 mins and now it is back to normal boosting at 15 psi etc.

Does the ECU have some kind of memory, so if I plug VAGCOM into it in about a months time will it show why limp mode was initiated?

 if their was a fault their it will log it on the ecu and come up when you do a scan

if you reset it though by disconnecting the battery it will not be their

Deffio limp mode, I hate that... luckily dotn happen often.. btu usually turning off and back on after a few mins sorts it... well temporarily whilst you investigate the why and hows lol

you get a +ve or -ve deviation error?
not uncommon.......

check requested vs actual.

high load (4th or 5th, full throttle from low rpm is worst case %load)

Sorry to sound stupid but what is a +ve or -ve deviation error?

its your likely fault code which is dropping your car into limp mode.

+ve deviation is achieving more boost than its requested, and -ve is failing to achieve requested. Assuming MAF & other components are healthy its a potential mapping issue or failing component/leak since mapping was originally done.

VAG-COM needed to look see at fault codes and do some logs (block 115 for boost request and actual)

+ or negative boost either boost leak or over boost which it what causes limp mod basically to much boost so ecu goes into safe mod so it dosent do any damage!

no fault codes came up and i did a log or actual v requested and a maf i can spot any problems but its different map to mine and different turbo!

How long do you have to disconnect the battery for the ECU to re-set?

Like a minute or hours!
