I have a 2002 ibiza 130 TDI sport.reacently it started beeping 3 times and then the red light constantly flashes in the temp guage.the car dose not overheat.it does this even when the temp is low.i checked coolant level which is fine.i replaced the 2 pin temp sensor.
the header tank dose not have a sensor.it has been in to the garage and came up with no faults.
HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM?
IS THERE A CURE FOR TI?
THANX

I have the exact same car, year and problem. I think its related to the funny clusters, presuming yours in the cluster with the 2 extra dials..

Iv got same problem too with my 130 sport. Do you have a sensor plug at top of header tank. I have a place to plug 1 into it but can't find a plug dangling about engine bay. ??

There's a fault on six dial dashes where the pins from the board are dry and you get a faulty dash . Best to get it out and resolder them all

On the back of the dash , on it's circuit board. The pins are under the speedo clocks. I'm in process of finding out if I can retro fit newer fr 4 dials as I'm sick of my fuel gauge not working

This sounds like the common 6-dial dash fault (resoldering pins on dash cluster fixed this for me). I have the same car and I don't have a sensor on the header tank either, I assumed that the same header tank is used in many VAG cars, so may use a sensor here in some cars but not in others, eg. seat ibizas.
