Help - Best way to fit a CD changer?

Hi..

Just bought my Mk3, unfortunately i havent reached the heady heights of a cupra (yet) so it didnt come with a CD changer - which i really want!

What is the best way of getting hold of/ fitting an autochanger that will work with the Seat stereo controls?

I think i read that the lower models leave the factory with the changer cable run out (to the boot?) and all you need to do is mount and plug in the box.

I called up my local Seat service centre and a cd changer and mounting kit from the accessories list (not spares) came close to 300 notes!

i was hoping the changer is shared by other models in the group so would be quite easy to pick up off of ebay or the like?

Any help would be much appreciated!

The wiring should already be there lift you boot carpet, left hand corner somewhere.
The mounting points are already there should be 3 or 4 holes on the lefthand panel just the right size to take M6 rivnuts.
I think the Leon 6 disc changer will work but you will need the ibiza specefic bracket.
If you live near lincoln I can get hold of an M6 rivnut gun.

M6 rivnut is that the type fixing for the bracket then?

There are three(or four) holes on the left hand panel in your boot, lift the carpet out of the way and you will see them covered up by rubber grommets. These holes are the correct size for M6 rivnuts. You then use M6 bolts to bolt the changer bracket to your car.
I'm not too sure on the changer models as the one I fitted to my friends Ibiza 1.4 chill was from Bill badgers Ibiza race car so it came with the correct bracket etc.
It is too dark for me to go and check the part number in the back of my car, will have a look tomorrow.
