OK guys, you've turned up trumps on my last boost question, so wondered if you'd seen this.
I've a 2004 225 TT, 6 speed manual. Am assuming that quite a bit of the gear linkage is the same as the Leon (sorry if not!) - anyone seen an issue where when it warms up, the springiness of the gear lever left/right stiffens up? So you stick it in neutral, push the stick hard left or right and let go, and it doesn't spring back?
Have lubed the shift mech under the bonnet, and the bushes I can see under the gaiter to no avail - silicone lube and grease wherever I could stick it. It's fine when cold, but gets stiffer when warm.
All the gears can be easily selected and there's no crunch so I'm not thinking syncromesh or alignment, just seems to be the springiness of the gear lever itself.
You guys seen this at all on your cars?
Cheers!
Ric
