Hello,

I'm a long time member but this is my first post. I'm the proud owner of a 2014 Seat Leon Cupra 280, with just under 50,000 miles on the clock.

I've owned it for over four years and I absolutely love it but I have a rust problem. All four dampers, the rear suspension arms and springs are rusting and need replacing.

So I'm going to take the opportunity to replace the lot, front and back, but I don't know whether to stay stock or update it. I don't want to lower the car and I like using the different drive modes, so is the best bet to stay with the factory setup or is there something better that won't cost the earth?

Factory I’d say. You can get Monroe shocks from Autodoc very cheap compared to Seats OEM price. Do Powerflex do rear arms? That’d be a good upgrade. Other than that, there may be aftermarket parts available. I’ve kept to Monroe shocks on my 280 every time I’ve had to replace em. They’re quite fragile. Potholes and dips take a toll on em unfortunately, but it is what it is.

I have a 6l and I want to swap the solid rear axle for a subframe control arms and anti roll bar set up I know it’s a ineffective use of time and money but what could fit on that chassis was thinking a golf mk5 any ideas ?
