nope, none whatsoever. Sorry I forgot to mension that i took the car off the road for 3 months about 2 months ago, and it seamed to be ok driving down the drive, then went heavy and has been ever since! No VAG COM fault codes either (If that does help)

is the belt still there? If not the valves in the steering rack could be goosed. Most likely pumps gone.

When was the last time you filled your tyres? May sound stupid but seriously underflated tyres will make the steering heavier!

I check the tyres every week or so, i find that the car looses grip more easily with low pressures... Ill have to check for the belt, will do so later when i get back.

Please could you explain about the valves in the steering rack Danny, is there anything i can check for?

I get this problem with my 2 year old LCR....? sometimes it is fine sometimes it feels heavy? Again I check tyres regularly, the car has done 36000 miles and has been serviced as normal?

If mine is faulty Warranty here I come again! hahaha

Belt is still on the pump, engine revs drop when steering at a standstill too, so pump is working. Could this be bushes of any sort? Or is this a pump thats pulling power from the engine but not acutally doing much work - ie dead?

am i right in saying theres a secondary power supply connector thats prone to failing, thus making steering heavy? mine came unplugged and was heavy.
