Ok, but the Mk2's are in the bonnet and so completely different. I'm not into all the wiring, so is there a simple way of heating them...or stopping them freezing apart from hot water or a towel over them over night?

warm the car up first

on mine they are right above the rear of the engine and its the first place to start defrosting anyway :) never had mine frozen yet

ideally you could patch em into the heated rear window switch the same as the door mirrors

i heard somewhere that if you extend the tubing a bit and then wrap it round a coolant hose a few times it helps

But its the nozzle of the jet that freezes over not the tubing or the washer bottle so I doubt that would work. I been told that heated jets are fitted on some cars like Mercs as standard.
